Find the shape
of what you mean.
Different formats ask different things of a reader. The scope starts with that difference: what the person needs to know, how much room the message has and what happens next.
Website copy
& brand voice
- Home and service-page copy
- Headlines, introductions and calls to action
- A concise voice direction with examples
A website needs to explain the offer before it asks for attention. This work connects a page’s main idea, supporting detail and next step so the visitor can understand where they are and why it matters.
A useful starting brief includes the actual offer, the audience, the pages in scope and any claims that need approved wording. The writing can then establish a vocabulary and a tone that hold together across the site.

Editorial articles
& useful guides
- Reader-focused outlines
- Explanatory articles and guides
- Structural editing and clear signposting
Some ideas need more room than a headline. Editorial work creates a route through a subject, from the question that brings a reader in to the explanation that makes the next decision easier.
The scope can include shaping an outline, drafting an article or revising an existing piece for structure and clarity. Sources, subject expertise and fact-checking responsibilities belong in the brief, particularly when the subject contains specialised claims.

Email sequences
& product words
- Welcome and onboarding emails
- Subject lines and preview text
- Small, useful interface messages
A sequence works best when each message has its own reason to exist. A welcome might introduce one simple action; a later email might answer the question that appears only after someone has tried the product.
The writing should reflect what the product really does. A brief should identify the trigger for each message, the destination of each action and any preferences or unsubscribe language that must be included in the live system.

Define the work
before the draft.
Deliverables, source material, review rounds, timing and fees are agreed for the individual project. The samples show possible approaches; a new brief determines the right format and depth.
